The State Service Centre DLR is responsible for research, teaching and consulting in viticulture, horticulture and rural development in Rhineland-Palatinate, the south-west part of Germany.

The DLR conducts specific studies to test innovations dedicated to Viticulture and Winemaking and develops several partnerships with other national or international viticultural and enological institutions. The object of the DLR is the study and dissemination of viticulture and wine-making techniques adapted to the specific requirements of the Rhine region, with a view to increasing the competitiveness and quality of the wines in national and international markets.
