CNIEL, the French Dairy Interbranch Organization (the umbrella organization for the dairy industry), was created in 1973 by milk producers and processors.

CNIEL meets two key objectives:

• to facilitate relations between dairy producers and processors
• and to promote a positive image of milk and dairy products.

The organization addresses a wide range of issues, from the dairy economy, international business and promotion, to technology and scientific research. Its work is aimed at helping dairy producers and processors to anticipate market developments and build a strong future.
