) are organising a workshop:

Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa facing climate change: soils and innovations
18‐19‐20 June 2018 - Dakar (Sénégal)

Hotel SAVANA, Pointe Bernard, Petite corniche

Objectives

This workshop aims at:

1. Collecting actors views on adopting innovations related to the objectives of Initiative 4 ‰;
2. Developping an action plan to increase the adoption of innovations related to the objectives of Initiative 4 ‰;
3. Presenting diffusion solutions for innovations;
4. Identifying local projects/networks for dissemination of agricultural innovations to face climate change.

Participants in the workshop

The workshop is targeting multi-actors and is intended for agricultural organizations, agro-industrial companies, administrations, donors, research organizations, training organizations, associations, NGOs, etc., with a limit of 20 to 25 participants from West Africa and Europe.

Workshop organisation

The workshop will take place in 2 stages:

  • 18 and 19 June: these 2 days will be dedicated to collecting actors' views on the adoption of innovations related to the objectives of the  4 ‰ Initiative and to the development of an action plan to increase the adoption of innovations related to the objectives of Initiative 4 ‰;
  • June 20: this day will be devoted to the presentation of the Agrisource innovation platform (www.agrisource.org) and the identification of local projects / networks wishing to join the platform.

The methodology on 18 and 19 June will use participants contributions through working groups. Participants will be able to join independently the days of 18-19 June and the day of 20 June.
