The purpose of LEMSAT is to understand, in a context of global changes, the role of microorganisms in the functioning of the soil-plant system in a tropical environment. The research is intended to integrate biogeochemical cycles of nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon, the activity of soil organisms, as well as their interactions with each other and with their environment, to establish the basis for an ecological intensification of soil organisms. soils in agroecosystems.
Four technological platforms:
• Molecular biology (track the structural changes of microorganisms due to soil disturbance to better understand the relationships between structure, diversity and activity);
• Biochemistry (assess potential microbiological activity in soil);
• Enzymology (determine enzymatic activities in soils);
• Nematology (assess soil nematode bioindication for agroecosystem management).
Lemsat is ISO 9001 certified (2008 version).
